IT ALL STARTED WITH A JOURNEY……
When coming to Los Angeles in 2023, writer and producer Jamael Shotomide (Left) was living the experiences that would later fuel him to write the short film “Oba”.
Originally titled “The King of Santa Monica”, the film was written to symbolize the meaning of his heritage; a Yoruba Descendant King. While upon this journey, he fell on many hardships including car accidents, failing relationships and the untimely passing of his mother’s death. While this news and string of bad luck would be sure to knock anyone down and out, the young writer found himself tasked with an even more important battle.
It was at this moment Jamael decided to fully delve into filmmaking and music, taking it more seriously than ever before.
Around this time he met the young director Kaya Beluga(Right) and Dylan Uema(Middle); an event that would later mark the start of the crew…………
